Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Farm Mechanic to join our agricultural operations team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in maintaining and repairing a variety of farm machinery and heavy equipment. This role is vital to ensuring the smooth operation of our farm activities, minimizing downtime, and maintaining safety standards across all equipment. Candidates with dealership experience, automotive repair skills, or experience working with industrial equipment are highly encouraged to apply. The Farm Mechanic will work both independently and as part of a team to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diverse machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy farm equipment.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on farm machinery such as tractors, harvesters, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and hand tools
- Conduct welding and fabrication tasks to repair or modify equipment as needed
- Operate power tools and heavy equipment safely during maintenance procedures
- Assist in the assembly and installation of new machinery or components
- Diagnose electrical systems on farm machinery and perform necessary repairs or replacements
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities
- Ensure all equipment complies with safety standards and operates efficiently
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely to handle large parts or machinery components
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with team members regarding maintenance needs
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with farm machinery or heavy industrial equipment
- Dealership experience is a plus, especially with Caterpillar or other major brands
- Hands-on experience with excavators, cranes, forklifts, HVAC systems, or automotive repair preferred
- Skilled in welding, electrical troubleshooting, schematics reading, and mechanical assembly
- Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, and maintenance of industrial equipment
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components
- Experience working with schematics for diagnostics and repairs is advantageous
- Prior customer service experience is beneficial for team collaboration and communication

Pay: $23.61-$38.00 per hour
