Our Chalk River location is looking for an External Dosimetry Technologist to contribute to CNL’s objectives through hands-on experience with well-defined assignments. What will you be doing!

Setting up work areas, including equipment for surveys, experiments, tests, and analysis.

Conducting experiments and tests; recording, organizing and analyzing observations and suggesting conclusions.

Making calculations and preparing charts, graphs and other supporting data for reports.

Completing safety assessments and work permits where qualified.

Ensuring procedures and processes are maintained for routine operations.

Executing dosimetry methods as required to fulfill customer service requirements and expectations.
Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

Education
-
Graduation from a recognized institute of advanced technology in a field relevant to the position, OR equivalent formal education OR Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent and has more than 3 years pertinent experience or the equivalent in experience, additional education and/or training.

Experience
-
Experience with the use of generic laboratory tools to maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.

Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new software.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Demonstrated sound judgment, possessing a keen sense of responsibility, and is reliable and thorough in carrying out duties.

Skilled in analytical and problem-solving.

Ability to collaborate with colleagues and customers effectively.

Security Clearance Eligibility Required
-
Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.

This position is part of the USW 1568 Union and is governed by the terms and conditions outlined in the USW 1568 Collective Agreement. As a member of this bargaining unit, you’ll benefit from clear expectations around hours of work, wages, vacation, and other conditions that support a fair and consistent working environment.
