The Squamish Connector is a family owned and operated company that was established in 2014. We focus on serving the community of Squamish and on helping the environment by reducing single occupancy vehicles and carbon emissions within the Sea to Sky corridor.
We are currently recruiting for a Bus Dispatch Supervisor. This is a full-time, permanent position based out of Squamish, BC.
Job duties:
- Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of bus drivers.
- Dispatch bus drivers and monitor routes to ensure schedules are met and to resolve operating problems.
- Serve as liaison between drivers, passengers and managers.
- Monitor bus-related operational deadlines, including mechanical maintenance schedules, insurance documentation, and commercial vehicle inspection requirements.
- Keep track of driver's driving times and Hours of Service (HOS).
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with managers.
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve performance.
- Train staff in job duties, safety procedures and company policies.
- Recommend personnel actions, including hiring, promotions and performance management
- Prepare operational reports
- Requisition materials and supplies for buses, storage and office.
- May be required to drive buses in case of emergency where a bus must be driven and no other driver can assist.
- Other duties may be required on occasion, to support driver scheduling, dispatch coordination and daily bus operations.
Experience
- At least 2 years of previous dispatch experience.
- Class 2 drivers licence.
- Must be acquainted with the Division 37 - Safety Code of the Motor Vehicle Act Regulations.
- Experience recording and tracking driving times and Hours of Service (HOS)
- Experience using software to record driving times and Hours of Service (HOS) and Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) is an asset.
- Knowledge of the area and tourism offerings is an asset.
Pay: $37.00 per hour
