About the Role
As an Event Vested Security Guard, you'll play an important role in creating a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, staff, vendors, performers, and event organizers.
This is a highly visible, customer-facing position where professionalism, communication, and sound decision-making are essential. You'll patrol assigned areas, monitor entrances and exits, assist with crowd management, respond to incidents, and provide exceptional customer service while helping ensure events operate safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Provide a visible security presence by patrolling assigned event areas.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to control access.
- Verify credentials, tickets, and identification when required.
- Direct guests and provide information in a courteous and professional manner.
- Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, and policy violations.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, disturbances, medical incidents, and other security concerns.
- Assist with crowd management before, during, and after events.
- Enforce venue rules and event policies while maintaining a calm and respectful demeanor.
- Coordinate with event organizers, law enforcement, emergency responders, and venue staff as needed.
- Complete accurate incident reports and maintain detailed activity logs.
- Assist with evacuations and emergency response procedures when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and wear the required high-visibility security vest and uniform at all times.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence (Required)
- Reliable transportation to various event locations
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond quickly during emergency situations
- First Aid & CPR Certification is considered an asset
- Previous event security, customer service, or public safety experience is considered an asset
- Strong observation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs (11 kg) when required.
- Ability to respond quickly to emergencies and navigate crowded environments.
