We are seeking a dedicated and results-driven Assistant Manager to join our team. In this role, you will support the Store Manager in daily operations, team management, and maintaining high standards of customer service. Your leadership will be vital in achieving a 5-star rating and fostering a positive environment for both customers and team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management:
- Supervise and train staff, providing coaching and support to enhance performance and develop skills.
- Address team grievances promptly and effectively, fostering open communication and a positive work environment.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new employees.
Store Operations:
- Open and close the store, ensuring all security protocols and operational procedures are followed.
- Oversee cash management, including deposits and register balancing.
- Maintain accurate store records, including invoices, sales receipts, and inventory transfers.
- Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing, adhering to company merchandising standards.
Customer Service:
- Greet and assist customers, using a consultative sales approach to meet their needs.
- Handle customer calls professionally and efficiently, addressing inquiries and concerns.
- Resolve customer complaints and issues to ensure a 5-star service experience.
- Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance overall satisfaction.
Product Installation:
- Assist in the installation of products such as bike racks, storage boxes, hitches, and other outdoor equipment efficiently and safely.
- Ensure all installations meet company standards and customer expectations.
- Provide guidance to customers on product use and maintenance.
- Perform basic troubleshooting for any installation-related issues.
Sales Performance:
- Monitor sales metrics and assist in developing strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Provide detailed product information and support product demonstrations.
- Collaborate with the sales team to recommend suitable accessories or add-ons.
Inventory Management:
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels and ensuring the sales floor is well-stocked.
- Keep installation tools and work areas organized and clean.
- Collaborate closely with the technical team; stay updated on new products, promotions, and company policies.
- Perform other related duties, as required.
What You’ll Earn
We want you to feel comfortable and be able to support your authentic lifestyle. As part of our unique compensation package, you will earn spiffs on certain sales and installations in addition to your base hourly wage. Different from commission, our spiffs are very attainable and are a substantial part of your compensation.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in an assistant manager or managerial role;
- Minimum 2 years’ customer service experience;
- Automotive and/or mechanical knowledge preferred;
- Passion for adventure and/or cars;
- Excellent leadership skills;
- Capability to communicate professionally with our community and gear guides;
- Ability to inspire and motivate the gear guides day to day; and
- Capacity to contribute to a respectful culture and healthy work environment.
