What You'll Do
As a Bridge Saw Operator, you will be responsible for the accurate cutting and fabrication of stone materials while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Set up, operate, and monitor bridge saw equipment to perform precise cutting and milling according to project specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications to ensure accurate measurements and flawless execution.
- Collaborate with the fabrication team to meet production schedules while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
- Inspect finished pieces for accuracy, quality, and compliance with customer and company specifications.
- Identify material defects or production issues and communicate them promptly to minimize waste and production delays.
- Label, organize, and safely store completed products for efficient retrieval and delivery.
- Operate overhead cranes and JIB cranes to safely lift, move, and position stone slabs onto A-frame buggies and throughout the shop.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting to keep machinery operating efficiently and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all company safety procedures and best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, and workplace safety.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Bridge Saw Operator or in a similar role within a stone fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, and technical documents.
- Solid mechanical aptitude and experience operating bridge saws, CNC equipment, or other industrial machinery.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Experience using hand tools and fabrication equipment specific to the stone industry.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle heavy stone slabs while following proper lifting and safety procedures.
- Comfortable working in a fabrication environment with exposure to dust, noise, and industrial equipment.
- Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
