Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Optometrist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive eye care services, including vision exams, diagnoses, and treatment plans. This role offers an opportunity to work with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics and senior care, in a supportive and professional environment. The Optometrist will utilize advanced technology such as any electronic health records to ensure efficient patient management and deliver exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess visual acuity and eye health
- Diagnose and manage ocular conditions, prescribing corrective lenses or treatments as needed
- Provide specialized care for pediatric patients and senior citizens, addressing unique needs
- Educate patients on eye health, vision correction options, and preventive care strategies
- Utilize medical terminology accurately in documentation and communication with healthcare teams
- Maintain detailed patient records using Epic electronic health record system
- Collaborate with optical staff to recommend appropriate eyewear solutions and sales opportunities
- Stay current with advancements in optometry practices and participate in ongoing professional development
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as an Optometrist with current certification to practice Optometry in Canada
- Proven experience in optical care
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to eye health and diagnostics
- Experience working with electronic health records
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations
- Ability to identify opportunities for product sales while prioritizing patient needs
- Commitment to providing compassionate, ethical, and high-quality eye care services
Pay: From $125,000.00 per year
