Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Dozer Operator to join our farm team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating heavy equipment, including dozers, excavators, graders, loaders, and backhoes. This role involves performing earthmoving and grading tasks essential for large-scale construction projects. The Dozer Operator will play a vital part in ensuring project efficiency, safety, and quality. Candidates should possess strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to operate multiple types of heavy machinery with precision.
Duties
- Operate dozers and other heavy equipment such as excavators, graders, loaders, and backhoes to perform earthmoving, grading, and paving tasks
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety standards
- Assist with site preparation, excavation, levelling, and material movement in accordance with project specifications
- Coordinate with project managers and team members to execute tasks efficiently and safely
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment usage
- Perform minor maintenance on machinery to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience operating dozers (Caterpillar preferred) and other heavy construction equipment such as excavators, loaders, graders, backhoes, and horizontal drilling machinery
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is preferred
- Experience with paving operations and construction site preparation is a plus
- Ability to operate multiple types of machinery, including grader operation for precise grading tasks
- Strong understanding of safety standards in construction environments
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
