Financial Controller, Head Accountant
Laird Wheaton GM is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented controller to join our leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in the financial success of a growing dealership.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting operations and month-end/year-end close.
- Prepare financial statements and management reports.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Reconcile bank accounts and manufacturer schedules.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reporting.
- Work closely with dealership management to support business decisions.
- Maintain and optimize accounting processes using the PBS Dealer Management System (DMS).
Qualifications:
- Accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) is a significant asset and will be given preferential consideration, although not a requirement.
- Experience with PBS DMS is considered an asset.
- Automotive dealership accounting experience is valuable but not required.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
