GLASS EDGER
JOB SUMMARY
The Glass Shop Edger works in the factory at a specific stage of the glass manufacturing process. The day consists of handling raw glass and running it through the edging machine to polish the raw edges of the glass. The position will keep you active, fit and test your strength!
Given the nature of this position, hours may fluctuate from day to day, week to week. Saturday work is required to complete shop maintenance on a monthly basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

Follow and obey all Safety rules

Handle Glass

Edge Glass

Loading / Unloading Glass

Understands Edger Maintenance Routine

Edges glass according to quality specifications

Reports quality deficiencies Glass Washer duties:
-
wash & inspect glass.
-
Clean and maintain washer machine.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

WHMIS (to be trained on the job)

Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance

Desire to learn new tasks

Able to work in a time sensitive environment.
PHYSICAL CHALLENGES

Must have the ability to lift 80 lbs.

Two-man lifting when required

Must be able to stand 6-8 hours per day

Lifting and carrying glass in a repetitive manner
