We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Auto Body Prepper to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing vehicles for repair by performing essential surface preparation tasks. Duties
- Clean and sand vehicle surfaces to remove dirt, rust, paint, and other debris using hand tools and power tools
- Mask off areas of the vehicle to protect parts during painting or further repairs
- Inspect vehicles to identify surface imperfections and determine necessary prep work
- Use heavy lifting techniques to move vehicles or parts safely within the shop environment
- Assist with minor repairs or adjustments as needed, supporting the overall repair process
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety standards are met at all times
- Collaborate with technicians and other team members to ensure timely completion of vehicle prep tasks
Requirements
- Dealership experience or previous work in an automotive body shop is highly preferred
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle surfaces, parts, and repair processes
- Proficiency with hand tools such as sanders, scrapers, and masking equipment
- Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively during prep procedures
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
- Basic understanding of automotive repair techniques and safety protocols
- Mechanic experience or familiarity with automotive systems is a plus but not required
