Our client, a well-established, family-owned business with over 60 years of success in their industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable professional to support their Accounting and Customer Service functions.
This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity, ideal for someone who values stability and is looking for the chance to step into a role, get to know the team and environment, and transition into a long-term position with confidence.
In this role, you’ll support Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and customer-facing tasks. The ideal candidate brings at least one year of accounting experience, is comfortable using QuickBooks, and has a strong customer-service mindset, including the confidence to handle collection calls when needed.
This position is best suited for someone who is proactive, adaptable, and team-oriented, with a “no task is below me” attitude and a willingness to jump in wherever support is needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The key job functions are:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries via phone and electronic communication, ensuring a positive experience
- Process orders, payments, invoices, and statements with accuracy and timeliness
- Manage full-cycle Accounts Receivable, including cash applications, collections, reconciliations, and A/R inbox oversight
- Support Accounts Payable functions, including invoice processing, 3-way matching, expense reports, and vendor reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial and client records, including communication logs and account updates
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, account issues, and customer concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Collaborate cross-functionally to address client needs and share feedback to improve processes and service delivery
- Assist with general accounting tasks, including journal entries, credit card reconciliations, and administrative support for the Accounting and HR teams
Education:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting or a related field is considered an asset.
Experience:
- 1+ year of experience in an accounting role (AR/AP exposure required)
- Experience with QuickBooks is required
Skills:
- Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently handle collection and customer service calls
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support across functions
Base Salary: $22+ per hour
- Salary based on experience
Work Hours:
- Monday to Friday
- 7:30am – 4:30pm
