Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Tutor to join our team as an independent Service Provider.
As a Tutor, you will be responsible for providing academic support and guidance to students of Grade 7-12 in various subjects. This is a part-time position with flexible hours.
Duties:
- Conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions with students in high school for Math and Science subjects for Grades 7 to 12 students.
- Create personalized lesson plans and teaching materials based on the individual
needs of each student.
- Assist students in understanding difficult concepts and improving their academic
performance.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to enhance the learning
experience.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to parents or guardians
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop strategies for student success
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress
Skills:
- Strong knowledge and expertise in the Ontario Secondary School curriculum
- Experience working with students in an educational setting
- Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
- Patience and empathy when working with students who may be struggling
academically.
- Excellent organizational skills to track student progress and manage multiple
tutoring sessions
Requirements:
- 3rd/ 4th year Graduate Student or Bachelor's degree in Science or Math as major
subjects.
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with computerized learning platforms is a plus.
- Special education experience will be an asset
