Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving practices, as well as the ability to operate heavy equipment and perform basic automotive repairs when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate trucks and transport freight to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload freight, utilizing forklifts and other heavy equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of driving hours and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise during transport.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and traffic laws while on the road.
- Perform minor automotive repairs and maintenance on the vehicle to ensure optimal performance.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL license is required.
- Familiarity with operating forklifts and heavy equipment is preferred.
- Previous experience in freight transportation or logistics is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of automotive repair techniques is advantageous.
