Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Estimator / Coordinator to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, coordinating bid processes, and managing project documentation to ensure seamless execution. Your expertise will help drive successful project outcomes by providing precise cost analysis, fostering strong vendor relationships, and supporting project management efforts from inception to completion. Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive construction estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and site conditions using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to negotiate pricing, scope of work, and contractual terms that align with project budgets and timelines.
- Coordinate bid submissions by preparing detailed proposals, reviewing bid packages, and ensuring all documentation meets client requirements.
- Assist in project management tasks including scheduling, tracking costs, and maintaining accurate records of project progress and changes.
- Review and analyze subcontractor quotes and material pricing to ensure competitive yet profitable bids.
- Support the procurement process by sourcing vendors, negotiating contracts, and managing purchase orders for materials and services.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase to identify potential overruns early and implement corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating and project coordination within commercial projects.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam for digital markup and document management; experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software is highly preferred.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to establish mutually beneficial relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
- Solid understanding of construction processes, including scheduling, cost control, and scope management.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, team members, and suppliers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Construction-related certifications or relevant training are a plus.
