Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our retail team in our location in Guildford area. This role is vital in providing exceptional customer experiences, managing transactions efficiently, and supporting sales initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be organized, and have a passion for delivering excellent service. Experience with lottery sales and experience in retail or a convenience store is preferred enabling us to serve a diverse customer base effectively. Must be physically fit to lift up to 25lbs and active to work in fast paced environment. Both full time/ part time shifts available.
Florist/ flower arrangement, gift baskets arrangement, gifts customization skills are strong asset and can be considered for both full time and part time roles .
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their inquiries
- Operate POS systems accurately for transactions including sales, returns, and exchanges. Lottery sales experience preferred.
- Handle cash, credit, and other payment methods with precision and integrity
- Upsell products and promote ongoing sales campaigns to maximize store revenue
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and ensure product availability
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing concerns promptly and professionally
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure smooth checkout processes
- Uphold phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online channels
- Support inventory management tasks as needed, including stock replenishment
- cleaning and organizing the store
- Florist or flower arrangement ( will train the right candidate if you have passion to learn and take care of flowers or plants )
- Experience with gift baskets arrangements or gifts customization is an asset.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service preferred
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- quick learner and Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Familiarity with POS systems and retail merchandising techniques
- Ability to demonstrate products effectively through demos or technical explanations (experience in technology sales is advantageous)
- Excellent organizational skills and time management to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- lotto certification and food safety certification preferred ( or we can help with these certifications for the right candidate )
- Friendly demeanor with strong phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
Pay: $18.25 per hour
