The Opportunity:
Located in Vancouver, Calmwater is seeking a dedicated full-time Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will be an integral part of a dynamic team and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role promises growth opportunities for a motivated candidate in the role as we continue to expand. This role is Hybrid, with a 4 days/week required in the office.
The Candidate:
This is a great opportunity. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and a keen interest in business operations with accounting experience in a high transaction volume industry.
This is a key role in the organization, so we are looking for the right candidate.
Core Duties include:
- Prepare and distribute customer invoices
- Respond to customer inquiries and requests
- Record and reconcile customer payments
- Process payroll and respond to payroll-related inquiries
- Prepare and file statutory remittances (GST, Payroll, WCB, etc.)
- Support T4, T2200, and other annual reporting requirements
- Process supplier invoices and prepare payment batches
- Prepare bank and credit card account reconciliations
- Identify and develop opportunities for process improvement in the Finance function
- Working in conjunction with the CFO, prepare financial and operational analyses to enhance company performance
Job Requirements:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Highly organized with a keen eye for detail
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Capable of processing a high volume of transactions
Job Assets:
- Experience in the construction industry
- Active pursuit of accounting designation (CPA)
- Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
