Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Short Term Camp Instructors to lead engaging activities and provide a positive, educational environment for children during our summer camp sessions. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about working with children and fostering their growth through creative and interactive learning experiences. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while gaining valuable experience in early childhood education and camp programming.
Duties
- Lead and facilitate a variety of camp activities, including outdoor/wilderness skills
- Provide supervision and ensure the safety of all children in your group at all times
- Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental needs through positive interaction and guidance
- Assist with setting up activities, maintaining equipment, and cleaning up after sessions
- Foster an inclusive, fun, and supportive environment that encourages participation and teamwork
- Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members to ensure a smooth camp experience
- Adapt activities to meet the diverse needs of children with varying skill levels and interests
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as tutoring, teaching, or early childhood education is highly desirable
- Prior experience in outdoor skills / wilderness skills is required
- Experience in leading or supervising youth activities or camps is preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage children in a positive manner
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute age-appropriate activities that promote learning and fun
- A background in tutoring or teaching can enhance the quality of instruction and activity facilitation
- Passion for working with children and creating memorable summer experiences
Pay: $18.60 per hour
