We currently have a position available for a Dispatcher & Dock Worker in our Fort St. John, BC location.

The daily schedule for this role will be 7:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
Responsibilities
- Planning routes and load scheduling for multi-stop pick ups.
- Answering phone calls and entering entering pick-up information.
- Booking in pick ups and liaising with customers.
- Allocating and recording resources and movements on the transport planning system (TMW Truck Mate).
- Ensuring all partners in the supply chain are working effectively and efficiently to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicating clearly and effectively with clients, and responding to their requirements.
- Assures that each scheduled route is appropriately covered by utilizing available Relief.
- Maintains cordial working relationships with assigned drivers and contractors.
- Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of roads and street in 25 km radius of the Fort St. John area.
- Communicate with department employees, dispatching to needed resources to appropriate locations.
- Respond to routine requests or emergency situations.
- Developing transportation relationships.
- Maintain current knowledge of routes and locations to assure timely services and accurate information.
- Perform a variety of clerical support duties as assigned; type correspondence, memos and other items; compile data from clearly defined sources and prepare reports; answer telephone, route calls or messages; prepare and process requisitions; distribute mail.
- Coordinating freight and managing any missing BOL's & POD's.
- Ensuring paperwork is correct and up to date.
- Responsible for safe loading and unloading of freight to and from transport trucks.
- Inspect shipments for proper quantity and damaged products. Report damages to the dock supervisor.
- Provide cross dock assistance to drivers.
- Interact with customers in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- Experience in the trucking industry preferred. Willing to train the right candidate.
- Knowledge of TruckMate dispatching software an asset.
- Proficiency with data entry.
- Must be able to pass a criminal record check.
- Must have a valid Class 5 License.
- 1 – 2 years warehouse experience, preferred.
- Shipping & receiving experience.
- Forklift / Loader experience an asset.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
