Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is a 315-bed academic and teaching hospital that provides specialized mental health, addiction and geriatric care. Located on the shores of Georgian Bay, we serve some of the most complex and disadvantaged individuals in Ontario and are the sole provider of high-secure forensic mental health services in the province.
The Director, Clinical Informatics & Data Analytics is currently seeking a temporary full-time Project Manager. The purpose of this position is to lead and deliver complex initiatives focused on advancing digital health, data and AI-related projects aligned with the organization’s strategy, commitments, and goals. The incumbent will apply a suite of project management, change management, and quality improvement frameworks to provide overall direction, coordination, implementation, and executive control of projects, ensuring delivery of anticipated benefits on time, within scope and budget, and with positive stakeholder experiences.
Please Note: This position offers a hybrid work environment consisting of in-office and remote work. Office location is 500 Church Street, Penetanguishene, ON
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex strategic projects, ensuring alignment with Waypoint’s strategic plan and organizational priorities

Act as a consultant and change agent to support the successful design, implementation, and adoption of initiatives

Supports background legal and regulatory research related to strategic projects, and assists in identifying potential legal, policy and compliance considerations requiring further review

Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, risks, and governance processes

Engage, facilitate, and communicate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders across the region and province

Monitor project progress, risks, and issues; prepare status reports and escalate concerns as appropriate

Lead and support multidisciplinary project teams and working groups throughout the project lifecycle

Prepare briefing notes, reports, presentations, decision documents, and other project communications for leaders and executives

Support change management, quality improvement, research, and data analysis activities related to projects

Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and results-focused team environment

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and applicable legislation
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as public administration, health administration, health informatics, digital health, data governance, or a related discipline is required.
- Law degree - JD, LLB, or equivalent - from an accredited law school is strongly preferred.

Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration is preferred.

Additional education or training in privacy, data governance, health law, AI governance, health informatics, or digital transformation is preferred.

Relevant training/certifications (completed or in progress) in at least two of: project management, change management, quality improvement, LEAN, patient quality, experience-based design, and/or implementation science is required.

3–5 years of leadership experience leading large, complex projects in a healthcare environment is required.

Proven healthcare leadership experience in project delivery, risk management, quality improvement, and change management.

Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage scope, schedules, budgets, and change using recognized frameworks (e.g., PMI, ADKAR).

Strong leadership, facilitation, analytical, and problem-solving skills in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with clinical and executive audiences.

Knowledge of health and safety requirements; strong service orientation, ethical practice, and commitment to lifelong learning.

Proficiency in English is required; French is an asset.
