Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Parts Person to join our team. This role is essential in managing inventory, sourcing parts, and supporting the supply chain processes within our dealership or manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with procurement, customer service, and mechanical knowledge to ensure smooth operations and excellent service delivery.
Duties
- Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP systems and CMMS software.
- Source and procure parts efficiently, negotiating with suppliers to obtain the best terms.
- Assist customers and internal teams by providing expert advice on parts selection and availability.
- Manage data entry related to orders, shipments, and inventory updates.
- Coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure timely procurement of parts aligned with demand planning.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely when handling parts.
- Support demand planning activities by analyzing inventory levels and forecasting needs.
- Collaborate with manufacturing or service teams to fulfill part requirements promptly.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, including proper handling of hazardous materials if applicable.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or background in automotive or industrial parts management preferred.
- Strong data entry skills with proficiency in ERP systems, CMMS, and supply chain software.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with vendors and clients.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and negotiation techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to automotive, HVAC, or manufacturing equipment is highly desirable.
- Experience operating a forklift and familiarity with demand planning methodologies.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills combined with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
