Job Title: Principal Engineer Location: Remote Salary: TBD

Our Shopify web development agency is looking for a Principal Engineer to join our team. We specialize in Shopify Plus development for enterprise clients, and we are seeking a talented and experienced individual to manage our team of developers and lead our technical projects.

Responsibilities:

Manage a team of 15 developers, including 3 lead developers, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members

Lead technical projects and work with clients to develop and implement custom Shopify solutions

Develop and maintain best practices and coding standards for our team

Work collaboratively with our project management and design teams to ensure the seamless delivery of projects

Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in Shopify development

Increase the efficiency of the team and incorporate automation wherever possible, using modern AI tools where applicable

Coach the team members so the level of our team increases YoY

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field

8+ years of experience in web development, with at least 3 years of experience in Shopify development

Strong knowledge of Shopify Plus and Shopify's APIs

Experience managing a team of developers, including conducting code reviews and providing mentorship and guidance

Previous team leading experience and significant front-end development experience

Comfortable with our tech stack (CSS Tailwind, React, Next.js, Nuxt.js, Github, Remix)

Ability to work collaboratively with other teams, including project management and design teams

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Familiarity with modern AI tools and experience in automating workflows
