About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join our growing commercial construction team. The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all phases of construction projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The successful candidate will be a proactive leader with excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple commercial construction projects from award through warranty.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
- Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with owners, consultants, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Prepare and administer subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Lead project kickoff meetings and ongoing project coordination meetings.
- Monitor project costs, productivity, and financial performance.
- Prepare monthly project reports, cost forecasts, and progress updates.
- Manage change orders, requests for information (RFIs), submittals, and project documentation.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with Site Superintendents to ensure construction activities are completed safely and efficiently.
- Support procurement of materials and subcontractors.
- Review and approve invoices, progress draws, and subcontractor payment applications.
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide exceptional customer service.
- Ensure projects are completed in accordance with company quality standards.
- Participate in project closeout including deficiencies, warranty, as-built documentation, and final turnover.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience in commercial construction.
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods and building systems.
- Experience managing projects ranging from renovations to new commercial builds.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and project administration.
- Experience with budgeting, scheduling, cost control, and forecasting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with project management software such as Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or equivalent is considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.

- Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
- Knowledge of Alberta building codes, occupational health and safety regulations, and construction best practices.
- Experience with design-build, stipulated sum, and construction management delivery methods is an asset
