As a Full Stack Developer at Millennium Insurance, you’ll join a small team to build software that directly supports our personal insurance business. You’ll take on meaningful projects, work closely with experienced developers, and keep growing your skills while delivering solutions that people rely on every day.
- Implement new features end-to-end, ensuring usability, performance, & maintainability.
- Work with business analysts, QA analysts, and data engineers to define solutions.
- Update and modernize existing features to integrate with newer technologies.
- Integrate third-party APIs with in-house systems.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency.
- Write unit, integration, and API tests for new and existing code.
- Actively engage in sprint ceremonies, collaborating with your team and with stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years of professional software development experience
- Ability to understand and develop working software without AI or tool assistance
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming; Proficiency in PHP/Laravel is preferred
- Working knowledge of key front-end frameworks, such as Vue, React, or Angular
- Familiarity with automated testing and Continuous Integration processes
- Experience in software development within financial services is considered an asset
- Working knowledge and proven proficiency in LAMP environments (Linux, Apache, MariaDB and PHP) is an asset
- Experience with maintaining and modernizing legacy software
In the first year, success will be measured by the ability to contribute to project milestones, resolve issues effectively, and deliver high-quality code that meets project requirements and deadlines. A willingness to collaborate with colleagues, seek feedback for continuous improvement, and demonstrate a proactive attitude in problem-solving and skill development will also be significant factors in assessing first-year success.
