The Opportunity:
Porcupine Wood Products is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician with Lumber manufacturing experience for our operation located in Salmo, BC. The successful candidate will join the electrical team in maintaining and troubleshooting modern sawmill equipment including PLC controlled systems to ensure continued operation.
Key Responsibilities:
· Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing routine maintenance on a large variety of equipment within our plant.
· Experience with PLC’s (Allen Bradley), VFD’s and HMI.
· Providing timely responses to critical equipment breakdown
· Conducting preventative maintenance (inspections, adjustments and repairs) to plant equipment.
· Participate in project work.
- Required Skills:
- Inter-provincial Industrial Electrician journeyperson certification
- A high degree of personal motivation and the drive to exceed expectations
- Minimum five years of experience as an Electrician
- Knowledge / experience with BC Electrical Code 2024
- Knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations
- Demonstrated ability to use PC’s to troubleshoot PLC-operated equipment
- Knowledge of how electrical/PLC circuitry interacts with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Knowledge of Scanning and Optimization systems
Considered a strong asset:
· Previous experience working in a sawmill or planermill
· Class B Field Services Representative Certificate
· OFA3 first aid ticket
Successful candidate must be a local resident or prepared to relocate to the local area.
