Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Procurement Specialist to join their team. Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all procurement activities.
- Source and procure production materials, repair parts, consumables, maintenance services, and equipment rentals.
- Build supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and contracts, and identify new sourcing opportunities.
- Maintain inventory levels and accurate inventory records to support production.
- Manage the procurement process, including RFQs, RFPs, RFIs, purchase orders, and capital asset requisitions.
- Coordinate deliveries and verify the accuracy of received goods.
- Resolve purchasing, billing, invoice, and material discrepancies with suppliers and internal teams.
- Collaborate with the General Manager, maintenance, shipping, and accounting to support operational requirements.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in business administration, commerce or economics, or equivalent experience.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in procurement.
- Previous experience in procurement within construction or manufacturing.
- Strong communication skills are essential.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings is a significant asset.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
