Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Formwork Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, concrete forming, and heavy equipment operation, with the ability to read schematics and blueprints. This role involves constructing, installing, and dismantling formwork for concrete structures, ensuring safety, precision, and quality throughout all phases of the project. The position offers opportunities to work on diverse projects including restoration, renovation, and new construction, utilizing a broad skill set that includes masonry, welding, flooring installation, and more.
Responsibilities
- Construct and install formwork for concrete structures using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate form construction.
- Perform rebar installation and masonry work as required for structural integrity.
- Operate heavy machinery safely to assist with formwork setup and removal.
- Execute concrete finishing tasks including caulking and surface smoothing.
- Assist in restoration and renovation projects by repairing or modifying existing forms or structures.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while adhering to safety standards.
- Engage in welding or flooring installation tasks as needed for specific projects.
- Conduct inspections of formwork to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry, concrete forming, or related construction fields.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Skills in rebar installation, masonry, welding, caulking, flooring installation, and restoration are highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights or on scaffolding when required.
- Knowledge of concrete finishing techniques and masonry work is preferred.
- Construction experience with a focus on renovation or new builds is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: From $45.00 per hour
