PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Corporate Performance Analyst participates in the design and administration of corporate reporting tools, ensuring data quality, technical documentation and compliance with Ministry specifications.
Within this role the Coordinator is accountable for contributing to the delivery of the Kingston General Hospital strategy. As an employee, one must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for actively promoting and supporting patient and family centered engagement and care in all we do.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design & Reporting
- Participates in the physical database design process for reporting tools
- Prepares database objects such as tables, triggers and stored procedures to support delivery of new applications, as well as enhancements to existing applications
- Participates in developing data models and database designs with Data Administration team
- Uses and supports database application and analytical tools: evaluate data quality, applications, and functions, produce output, maintain operation
- Supports internal and external reporting needs of the organization. Gathers, reviews, compiles and analyzes human resources, efficiency, production, patient health status, and access data from employee and patient databases, identify by type
- Checks for completeness and compliance with established criteria, obtains any missing information and resolves discrepancies before producing reports entering them into a computerized database. Updates data in the database to provide accurate and reliable reports
- Establishes and maintains Balanced Scorecard data and generate reports of success indicators
- Develops reports using Visual Basic and/or other analytical software to retrieve, edit and tabulate data from databases. Enhances and maintain existing reports and systems
- Develops technical documentation for reporting systems
- Utilizes the computer to produce reports with the compiled raw data
- Acts as the hospital contact and primary support for WTIS
- Alternates data compilation and data reliability with other staff to ensure a high standard of accuracy
- Produces a reporting framework for the monitoring and evaluation of clinical outcomes of the hospital including the development of a coordinated dashboard to provide online access by management to key performance indicators.
Administration
- Participates in the refinement of the process for the quarterly performance review reporting mechanism and in particular to improve its timeliness and accessibility.
- Provides assistance in the development of tools to measure and manage key performance indicators. A methodology or a procedure to determine the best (or acceptable) way of measuring the required metrics should be developed. What methods to be used, and how frequently will the data be collected as well as the standard accepted for the accuracy, reliability, and validity of the data must be determined. Additionally for each information (or report) monitored, identify what metrics need to be used for each piece of information.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree in Business Administration or similar
- 1 year of experience with Microsoft PowerBI including Data analysis and reporting within the last 2 years
- Proven skills on business intelligence analytical tools
- Demonstrated ability to generate reports form a variety of applications
- Strong verbal and written communication, facilitation/presentation and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of hospital programs and services
- Demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills for gathering data with the ability to identify and analyze key performance indicators
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask
- Excellent proven decision and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated proficiency working with microcomputer applications in a Windows environment (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, database, email, computerized calendar, and internet)
- Demonstrated ability to write code and analyze data
- Proven ability to attend work regularly.
- Satisfactory criminal reference check and vulnerable sector search required.
