Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Tile Setting Contractors to lead and execute high-quality tile installation projects across Nanaimo, Parksville, Qualicum Beach and beyond.
The ideal Contractors will possess 3+ years’ experience in setting tile and flooring systems (stone setting experience is a bonus). Contractors must have a registered business that's licensed to operate in our service areas, as well as WCB insurance coverage, as well as a valid driver's license and vehicle suitable for carrying tools.
A full-time permanent position with Miratile may be available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Miratile project managers and clients to meet deadlines and quality expectations.
- Install ceramic, porcelain, stone, or glass tiles on floors, walls, and surfaces according to project specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project plans to ensure precise execution.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and installing tile specific backer board products, waterproofing, uncoupling and crack isolation membranes. Experience with dry pack/screeding is an asset.
- Utilize hand tools such as squares, chalk lines, lasers, trowels, cutters, levels, and saws to layout spaces and cut and shape tiles accurately.
- Perform related carpentry tasks including framing, subfloor installation or minor repairs as needed for tile installation.
- Apply silicone, caulking and grout to finish joints for a clean, professional appearance
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of proven experience setting tile and installing flooring systems.
- Proficiency with hand tools and construction equipment used in tile setting.
- Knowledge of and experience working with top tile and flooring system suppliers and their products.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry, deleted caulking and handyman skills beneficial for comprehensive project execution.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on high-quality craftsmanship and customer service.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments.
- Valid experience in construction or related fields preferred but not mandatory; relevant certifications are a plus.
Pay: $25.00-$65.00 per hour
