Conlon Motorsports is looking for an experienced Service Writer to join our service team in Fort Saskatchewan.
We're looking for someone who understands how a busy service department operates, can communicate clearly with customers and technicians, and knows how to keep jobs moving from the initial write-up through to completion.
Experience in automotive, powersports or marine service is strongly preferred. If you're currently working in automotive service and looking for a change, this position offers competitive hourly pay without having your entire income tied to individual commissions, while still providing the opportunity to earn additional team-based performance bonuses.
What You'll Be Doing
- Greet customers and accurately document their service concerns
- Create and manage repair orders from initial write-up through completion
- Communicate repair recommendations, timelines and costs clearly to customers
- Coordinate with technicians and the service team to keep work moving efficiently
- Assist with daily shop scheduling and workload management
- Provide customers with updates throughout the repair process
- Prepare and process warranty claims according to manufacturer requirements
- Work with the parts department to identify and coordinate required parts
- Maintain accurate customer, vehicle and repair information
- Follow up with customers when additional work or authorization is required
- Help ensure completed work is properly documented and ready for customer pickup
- Contribute to a positive, organized and productive service department
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as an automotive, powersports and/or marine Service Writer or Service Advisor
- Familiarity with manufacturer warranty and warranty claim processes
- A basic mechanical and technical understanding
- Strong customer-service and communication skills
- The ability to communicate effectively with technicians, parts staff and other members of the service team
- An understanding of basic shop scheduling and workflow
- Familiarity with powersports models, terminology and products
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to manage multiple repair orders and priorities at once
- A team-first attitude and the ability to work well in a busy environment
Parts knowledge and previous powersports experience are considered strong assets.
Compensation
$25–$35 per hour, based on relevant experience
Team-based performance bonuses are also available.
We know experienced automotive Service Advisors can earn significant incomes under commission-based compensation structures. Our approach is different: we offer a strong, predictable hourly wage that isn't dependent on individual sales commissions, while still rewarding the performance of the service department as a team.
For the right candidate, that means consistent income, less month-to-month uncertainty and the opportunity to earn more when the team performs well.
Why Conlon Motorsports?
You'll be working in a powersports environment with motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides and other machines people are genuinely excited about owning and riding.
We're looking for someone who can bring experience to the department, work well with the people around them and help us deliver a service experience that keeps customers coming back.
If you have service-writing experience and you're interested in bringing those skills into the powersports industry, we'd like to hear from you.
Apply today with your resume and relevant experience.
