Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Barista/Bakery Worker to join our team. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality coffee, sandwiches and bakery items while providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, strong time management skills, and experience in food handling and customer service. The role is $18 an hour to start plus tips. A shift meal and drink is also provided.
Weekend availability is a must.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, sandwiches, and bakery items with precision and care
- Operate POS system for accurate cash handling and transactions (Square)
- Manage food preparation tasks, including packaging baked goods
- Ensure food safety standards are maintained at all times
- Provide exceptional customer service by taking orders, answering questions, and assisting with menu selections
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, equipment, and dining space throughout shifts
- Handle cash register operations accurately, including basic math calculations for transactions
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during busy hours
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure quality and hygiene standards are met at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience as a barista or in the food industry is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service
- Food safety certification or willingness to obtain one is preferred
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
