Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Mobile Diesel Mechanic Helper to assist in the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles. This role involves supporting experienced mechanics in servicing a variety of machinery, including farm equipment, industrial machinery, and heavy-duty trucks. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with hand and power tools, and a willingness to learn. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the diesel repair industry within a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed mechanics with routine maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on diesel engines and heavy equipment
- Support in the inspection and troubleshooting of machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to perform basic repairs and assembly tasks
- Aid in the replacement of parts following schematics and technical manuals
- Perform heavy lifting and assist with the movement of industrial equipment safely
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety compliance
- Follow safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and industrial maintenance
- Support electrical work and HVAC-related tasks as needed under supervision
Qualifications
- Previous experience or familiarity with dealership service environments is preferred
- Basic knowledge of automotive repair, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and schematics
- Experience working with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery is a plus
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and industrial machinery safely
- Strong mechanical knowledge with an interest in learning more advanced repair techniques
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in demanding environments
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients or team members
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and technical schematics accurately
- Prior mechanic experience or training in industrial or automotive repair is advantageous
