Nordic Energy Canada Corp. is a growing transportation and oilfield services company providing safe, reliable fluid hauling solutions throughout Alberta and British Columbia. We are seeking an experienced Tank Truck Dispatcher / Field Operations Supervisor to join our team in Grande Prairie.
This is a leadership position responsible for coordinating day-to-day dispatch operations while providing direct supervision and support to our professional driving team. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, make sound operational decisions, and be committed to safety, customer service, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities Dispatch & Operations
- Coordinate daily dispatch of tank truck and fluid hauling operations.
- Schedule drivers, equipment, and resources to maximize efficiency.
- Monitor fleet activity using GPS and telematics systems.
- Manage customer requests and respond to changing operational priorities.
- Communicate with customers and drivers regarding job status, scheduling, and service requirements.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Coordinate equipment availability with the shop and maintenance department.
- Support after-hours and on-call dispatch coverage as required.
- Complete daily dispatch documentation.
- Review tickets, field paperwork, and electronic submissions for accuracy.
- Maintain dispatch records and customer communication logs.
- Assist with reporting, scheduling, and operational planning.
Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and support a team of professional Class 1 drivers.
- Promote a positive safety culture and lead by example.
- Coach employees on company policies, procedures, and customer expectations.
- Conduct driver observations, performance discussions, and incident reviews.
- Assist with onboarding and mentoring new employees.
- Address operational issues and resolve conflicts professionally.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- Federal Hours of Service regulations
- National Safety Code requirements
- TDG Regulations
- Company policies and client procedures
- Monitor driver logs, DVIRs, inspections, and required documentation.
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Work closely with Operations, HSE, and Maintenance to maintain compliance.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of dispatch experience in trucking, transportation, or oilfield services.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is considered a strong asset.
- Excellent knowledge of Alberta and British Columbia oilfield operations.
- Strong understanding of tank truck operations and fluid hauling.
- Working knowledge of:
- Hours of Service
- TDG Regulations
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Samara Fleet management system
- Experience with dispatch and fleet management software (Samsara experience is considered an asset).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
