Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety officer to join our team on a construction project in Cambridge, ON. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture on-site, ensuring compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations, and supporting day-to-day site operations from a safety perspective.
This is a site-based full-time contract role running from July 20th 2026 and will end around August 24th 2026 with possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and hazard assessments
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and company standards
- Deliver safety orientations and toolbox talks to site personnel
- Identify unsafe conditions and take corrective action as required
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and prepare detailed reports
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and records
- Work closely with site supervision and project teams to support safe work practices
- Coordinate with project management, subcontractors, and workers to promote a safe work environment.
- Serve as the primary safety representative for the project.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience
- Strong knowledge of construction site safety practices and OH&S regulations
- Experience working on active construction sites in Canada
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Cambridge,ON
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment screening
Preferred Qualifications (Assets)
- NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer)
- CSO (Construction Safety Officer)
- CRSP designation considered an asset
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or a related field
- CHSC(CERTIFIED Health and Safety consultant)
