POSITION SUMMARY
NAMCO is seeking an Entry-Level CNC Lathe Machinist to join our growing machining department.
This position is ideal for someone with 1–2 years of CNC machining experience or a recent graduate from a Machinist apprenticeship or CNC program who wants to build a long-term career in precision manufacturing.
Successful candidates will receive hands-on training while working alongside experienced machinists on a wide variety of custom components.
This position begins on the day shift for training. After successfully completing the training period and demonstrating proficiency with the equipment, employees may have the opportunity to transition to afternoon shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM) based on operational needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Set up and operate CNC lathes
· Load and unload materials safely
· Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
· Verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments
· Monitor machining operations and make minor offsets when required
· Select appropriate cutting tools and replace worn tooling
· Maintain tight tolerances and quality standards
· Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning
· Report machine or quality concerns to supervisors
· Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams
· Follow all safety, quality, API Q1, and ISO 9001 procedures
· Maintain a clean and organized work area
QUALIFICATIONS
· 1–2 years of CNC lathe machining experience preferred
· Machinist apprenticeship or technical training is considered an asset
· Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings
· Basic understanding of G-Code and CNC machining principles
· Experience using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring equipment
· Strong mechanical aptitude
· Excellent attention to detail
· Positive attitude and willingness to learn
· Reliable with strong attendance
INTERVIEW PROCESS
Shortlisted candidates will complete blueprint reading assessment, precision measuring assessment, CNC knowledge interview and a hands-on machining test during the interview to demonstrate skill level and performance
SCHEDULE
· Monday to Friday
· Standard day shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
· During the training period, employees will work the day shift alongside experienced machinists.
· Once fully trained and familiar with the equipment, there may be an opportunity to transition to afternoon shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM), depending on production requirements and business needs.
· Overtime opportunities are available based on workload and production schedules.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Hourly Pay: $25.00 – $30.00+ per hour (negotiable based on experience and performance)
