Driver / Childcare Support Staff

North Academy Daycare & Afterschool is currently hiring a responsible, caring, and dependable Driver / Childcare Support Staff to join our team. We are looking for an individual who enjoys working with children and can provide safe transportation while also supporting educators within the daycare and afterschool program when required.
This position is ideal for someone who is safety-conscious, organized, patient, and able to build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
Position Responsibilities:
- Safely transport children to and from schools, field trips, and program activities
- Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections and maintain cleanliness of the vehicle
- Ensure children are safely seated and supervised during transportation
- Follow all traffic laws, daycare transportation policies, and safety procedures
- Maintain accurate attendance and transportation records
- Communicate professionally with staff and parents regarding transportation schedules or concerns
- Assist daycare and afterschool staff in classrooms and program areas when transportation duties are completed
- Support children with daily routines, activities, supervision, and transitions as needed
- Help maintain a safe, positive, and nurturing environment for all children
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Class 4 Driver’s License (minimum requirement)
- Previous professional driving experience preferred
- Early Childhood Educator Level 1 Certification required**
- Level 2 or Level 3 certification preferred
- Current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Current Driver’s Abstract with a clean driving record
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Certification
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working with children is considered an asset
