Woodworking Machine Operator
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Woodworking Machine Operator to join our shop team. This role primarily involves operating a double mitre saw, planer, and pneumatic pinner to produce high-quality wood components. The ideal candidate values accuracy, works well with repetitive tasks at a fast pace and has experience in a woodworking or manufacturing environment.
Work Environment
Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (4 day work week)
- 2 week Summer and 2 week winter shutdowns for accrued vacation

Key Responsibilities
- Operate a double mitre saw using foot pedal and hand clamps with a high level of accuracy
- Use a pneumatic pinner safely and efficiently for assembly tasks
- Operate a planer and other woodworking equipment as required
- Measure, cut, and assemble wood components according to specifications
- Read and accurately interpret measuring tapes and cut lists
- Maintain consistent quality standards across repetitive tasks
- Feed materials into, and stack materials from, industrial equipment (e.g., sanders, glue clamps, planner)
- Perform basic housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe workspace
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and guidelines
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistent accuracy throughout the shift
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and handle materials up to 30 lbs
- Comfortable working in a noisy, dust-producing shop environment
- Must wear required PPE, including N95 dust mask
- Can be cold in the winter and hot in the summer, temperatures fluctuate and make for different work environments.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous woodworking or manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to read a measuring tape accurately (essential)
- Experience operating equipment such as mitre saws, planers, or pneumatic tools is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$21.00 per hour
