Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience including semi truck & trailer repair and dealership experience. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems to ensure optimal operation of equipment. The Journeyman Mechanic will play a vital role in supporting our operations through expert technical skills, safety adherence, and excellent customer service.
Duties
- Perform detailed inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on semi trucks & trailers.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, schematics, and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks including lubrication, part replacements, and system adjustments to prevent breakdowns.
- Operate heavy machinery safely during repair or testing procedures when necessary.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to accurately identify issues and implement solutions.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs while adhering to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used.
- Assist in assembly or installation of new equipment or systems as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in semi trucks & trailers
- Dealership experience preferred but not required.
- Experience in welding, electrical systems, and the use of hand tools and power tools is an asset.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Valid certifications or licenses related to heavy equipment operation or specialized trades are advantageous but not mandatory.
Pay: From $35.00 per hour
