Job Title: 3rd Year, 4th Year, or Journeyperson Millwright
Location: Red Deer, Alberta
TankSafe is looking for motivated, dependable 3rd Year, 4th Year, and Journeyperson Millwrights to join our growing team in Red Deer, Alberta.
This is a full-time, shop-based position working Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts. Our work focuses on the assembly and packaging of power generation systems, including mechanical equipment, process piping, and complete skid-mounted systems. We are looking for individuals who take pride in quality craftsmanship, enjoy working in a collaborative environment, and can see the "big picture" by understanding complete mechanical systems from drawings through final assembly.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will have:
- Journeyperson Millwright certification or be a registered 3rd or 4th Year Millwright Apprentice
- Experience with power generation packaging, industrial equipment assembly, or process piping
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, isometric drawings, and P&IDs
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, piping layouts, and equipment installation
- Ability to understand complete system operation and develop logical assembly and production sequences
- Experience fitting, aligning, and installing rotating and stationary equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence
Key Responsibilities
Journeyperson Millwrights
- Lead the mechanical assembly and installation of power generation packages and skid-mounted systems
- Read and interpret engineered drawings, blueprints, P&IDs, and mechanical specifications
- Install, fit, align, and assemble pumps, engines, generators, piping systems, valves, and auxiliary equipment
- Plan and develop efficient order of operations for mechanical assembly and production
- Coordinate with fabrication, electrical, and project teams to ensure efficient workflow
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets engineering drawings, quality standards, and customer specifications
- Assist with project planning, material requirements, and quality documentation
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment
3rd & 4th Year Millwright Apprentices
- Assist with the assembly and installation of power generation equipment and piping systems
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings and P&IDs while developing technical skills
- Fit, align, and install mechanical components under the guidance of Journeypersons
- Assist with piping installation, equipment layout, and mechanical testing
- Prepare materials, organize work areas, and maintain shop cleanliness
- Continue developing mechanical knowledge and safe work practices
