Facilities Manager
Location: Downtown Toronto
Compensation: Up to $120,000
We are partnering with a leading commercial real estate and facilities management organization to identify a technically strong Facilities Manager for a high-profile commercial portfolio in Downtown Toronto.
This position is ideal for a facilities professional with a strong background in commercial building operations who can effectively manage building systems, communicate with stakeholders, and drive operational performance through preventative and corrective maintenance programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of a commercial property portfolio.
- Ensure building systems are operating efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for technical building issues and communicate solutions clearly to stakeholders and clients.
- Manage and monitor maintenance programs, service requests, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Utilize CMMS platforms to track performance metrics and achieve operational KPIs related to preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and service delivery.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to building performance, reliability, and tenant satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of Facilities Management experience within a commercial real estate environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of central plant operations, including:
- Boilers
- Chillers
- Shallow lake cooling systems
- Working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS), including the ability to perform basic troubleshooting and clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Experience using CMMS platforms to manage maintenance programs and drive operational results.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Building Operator with progressive advancement into Facilities Management.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex building systems and coordinate effective resolutions.
- Strong understanding of commercial building operations, maintenance best practices, and asset reliability strategies.
