We're JCL Strategies, a Canadian cloud-based bookkeeping firm that helps small businesses stay financially organized and ahead of the curve. Most of our clients are in the construction and service industries, and they rely on us to keep their books clean, accurate, and easy to understand.
We've built detailed systems, SOPs, and step-by-step checklists for everything we do. We believe great bookkeeping comes from great processes. The systems are already built. We just need the right person to follow them, think critically, and help us deliver exceptional work for our clients.

About the Role
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys bookkeeping.
You're the kind of person who notices when something doesn't look right. You like solving problems instead of working around them. You enjoy finding answers, learning new things, and keeping everything organized.
This is a fully remote position with fixed hours. Our clients depend on us, and our team works together throughout the day. You'll need to be comfortable working independently, managing your workload, and communicating with your teammates when needed.

Who We're Looking For
You'll be a great fit if you:
- Have at least 2 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience
- Are confident using QuickBooks Online
- Are confident using Dext
- Have exceptional attention to detail
- Communicate clearly and professionally
- Can manage your own workload while working remotely
- Are resourceful and enjoy solving problems
- Know when to work through a problem and when to ask for help
- Enjoy learning and are open to feedback
- Take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work
Responsibilities
- Process and review receipts in Dext
- Match, add, and transfer bank transactions in QuickBooks Online
- Request missing receipts or information from clients through Double
- Maintain accurate and organized bookkeeping records
- Follow our SOPs, checklists, and internal processes
- Complete work accurately and on time
- Communicate with clients and the team as needed

Our Hiring Process
We believe the best hiring decisions come from seeing how someone actually works.
Round 1: A virtual interview where we'll get to know each other, discuss your experience, and answer any questions you have.
Round 2: A paid working interview. You'll complete bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks Online and Dext that are similar to the work you'd be doing in this role. This gives you the opportunity to see how we work, while allowing us to see how you approach real bookkeeping tasks, solve problems, and communicate.
