Carpenter Canada Co. has an immediate opening for a Shipper/Receiver on morning shift (6:00 am - 2:30 pm) at our Calgary manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the safe operation of assigned equipment or machine used in manufacturing of components and/or finished products for internal and external customers as defined by a daily production schedule.
The additional responsibilities as Shipper/Receiver will include:
- Conduct and record forklift pre-use inspections.
- Secure trailers before loading/unloading activities.
- Inspect trailers for damage.
- Check loading tickets.
- Use SAP and RF scanners to locate the required products.
- Move stock in loading area as necessary.
- Use SAP and RF scanners to record work transactions.
- Use forklift to load trailers.
- Handle finished products up to 50lbs.
- Record and track information in inventory control system.
- Verify trucks have been loaded properly.
- Generate manifest and bills of lading.
- Perform housekeeping on equipment and surrounding work area.
- Unloaded products, trim, and chemicals as needed.
- Perform weekly/monthly inventory count.
- Ensure dock bays and outside dock is clean and safe for use.
Skills and Requirements
- Major duties and responsibilities of the job can be satisfactorily performed with a high school education or GED.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Able to read and interpret a tape measure.
- Forklift experience and license is required.
- Prior experience in manufacturing environment is an asset.
