Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Hydrovac Operator or Swamper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating hydrovac trucks to safely excavate and expose underground utilities while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in various outdoor environments.
Duties
- Operate hydrovac trucks for safe excavation of soil and debris around underground utilities.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute excavation projects efficiently.
- Utilize additional equipment such as skid steers, excavators, directional drills when necessary.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while on-site.
- Assist in horizontal drilling operations as required.
- Communicate effectively with project managers and other team members regarding project status and any potential issues.
Experience
- Proven experience in operating hydrovac trucks or similar heavy machinery is preferred.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and practices.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems related to hydrovac operations is essential.
- Experience in construction or excavation environments is beneficial.
- Ability to build and dig effectively while maintaining high safety standards.
