We are a packaging machine builder looking for a welder with machinist experience such as milling and lathe. The candidate will be responsible to fabricate components and perform fitting and welding of aluminum and stainless-steel parts using TIG welding, and occasionally MIG welding.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate for the welder position will have demonstrated adept knowledge of various hand tools and equipment required to manufacture metal products. The welder will be required to assist the Machine Builder’s Department with their insight and knowledge of manufacturing methods and may also perform random maintenance. Other responsibilities include being able to read and understand production drawings, blueprints, work orders, and other written instructions.
The Welder is responsible for:
- Reading and interpreting blueprints or welding process specifications.
- Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines.
- Maintaining safe work practices.
- Conducting repairs, modifications, and retrofits.
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure designs will function as intended within the operating environment.
- Other assigned work as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety procedures
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Welder
- Valid welding certification (TIG), (MIG)
- Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with little-to-no oversight.
- Excellent common sense, decision-making abilities, interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with staff, management, customers, and suppliers and work as an effective team member.
- A commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients and customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Overtime as required.
- Safety equipment required (e.g. steel-toed shoes, welding helmet, welding gloves, hearing protection, Fire-Resistant Clothing etc.)

PAYRATE DETERMINED BY SKILL LEVEL
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
