We're currently seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our growing service department. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of Bobcat compact equipment while delivering exceptional workmanship and customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of heavy equipment and attachments with efficiency and precision.
- Perform setup and pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of new equipment.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, and mechanical systems.
- Complete preventative maintenance and scheduled service work.
- Accurately record labour, parts, and materials for each repair order.
- Complete all required manufacturer documentation and service reports.
- Communicate repair progress, findings, and recommendations with the Service Advisor and Shop Foreman.
- Maintain, organize, and care for shop tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Ensure all work is completed safely while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Participate in manufacturer training and ongoing professional development as directed by the Service Manager.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant Heavy Equipment Technician trade certification required.
- Red Seal Journeyman certification preferred (or equivalent experience will be considered).
- Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or similar machinery is considered an asset.
- Strong hydraulic, diesel engine, electrical, and mechanical diagnostic skills.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
