Head Chef – Contract Position
Midland Golf and Country Club is seeking an experienced and motivated Head Chef to lead our culinary operation for the remainder of the 2026 golf season.
This is a contract position until mid-October 2026. Due to planned clubhouse construction, the position will pause at the end of the season, with the opportunity to resume in May 2027 as we open and operate from a brand-new clubhouse.
The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations, menu execution, food quality, ordering, inventory control, kitchen cleanliness, and leading the culinary team. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, consistency, creativity, and the ability to deliver quality food in a private club environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all daily kitchen operations for member dining, events, tournaments, and banquets
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and service standards
- Manage food ordering, inventory, portion control, and food cost
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
- Train, supervise, and support kitchen staff
- Work closely with management to improve menus, service flow, and overall member satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef, or senior kitchen leader
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food costing, ordering, and inventory
- Experience with banquets, events, and high-volume service is an asset
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Food Handler Certification required
