De Vries Fine Woodworking Inc. is hiring an experienced Cabinetmaker for our custom woodworking shop in Port Alberni, BC.
We are looking for someone with strong hands-on experience building custom cabinetry from shop drawings. This is not an entry-level position, flat-pack assembly, general carpentry, or construction work.
What You'll Do
- Build custom cabinetry and architectural millwork from shop drawings
- Read and interpret plans, layouts, details, and specifications
- Work with sheet goods, solid wood, veneers, laminates, hardware, and specialty materials
- Assemble cabinets, drawers, doors, panels, gables, fillers, and custom components
- Operate standard woodworking shop equipment safely and accurately
- Review drawings and ask questions before issues reach production or site
- Assist with installations when required
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and efficient
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of cabinetmaking experience required
- Strong ability to read and build from shop drawings
- Experience building custom cabinetry in a cabinet shop setting
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
- Strong attention to detail
- Practical problem-solving skills
- Legally able to work in Canada
