We are growing our team and are currently seeking AIBC-registered Architects.
As an Architect at CDA, you will participate in all phases of projects - from concept and schematic design through construction administration - bringing both design leadership and technical expertise. You will work closely with project teams and principals, contributing creative solutions, coordinating with consultants and authorities, and mentoring junior staff.
Qualifications:
- Fully registered as an Architect with AIBC.
- 10 or more years experience.
- Strong design sensibility with the ability to translate concepts into detailed, buildable solutions.
- Sufficient knowledge to lead project teams on all phases of design and document production.
- Experience with mid-rise and/or high-rise residential/mixed-use projects in Canada.
- Experience with wood-frame projects in Canada is a plus.
- Technical proficiency in BIM/Revit, construction documentation, and detailing.
- Solid knowledge of building systems, codes, and construction processes.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with clients, consultants, and project teams.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentorship abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project design and technical solutions from concept through construction administration to ensure design integrity.
- Manage and mentor junior design staff, fostering professional growth and providing daily performance feedback.
- Coordinate design intent and performance goals with clients, consultants, and municipal authorities.
- Oversee project quality, schedules, and budgets in close collaboration with Project Managers.
- Establish the project’s BIM approach and process plans using in-house resources.
- Resolve complex technical and zoning issues by applying advanced code knowledge and developing new procedures.
