Newway Formwork Inc is a concrete formwork company specializing in mid-rise and high-rise projects in the Calgary and Vancouver areas. We are currently looking to fill the position of Lead Surveyor for projects in the Calgary Area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing Survey Layout for concrete formwork. Projects include Parkades and High Rise buildings.
The following experience and skills are required for the position,
- Must have at least 3-5 years experience in concrete formwork on construction sites (high rise to low rise building types)
- Have good computer skills and the ability to use AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Microsoft programs such as outlook, word and excel.
- Have good communication skills and be to work as part of a team or alone when needed.
- Confident in reading blueprints and specifications and reviewing site instructions/daily site changes.
- Be able to operate robotic total stations, builders and laser levels.
- Be able to supervise survey crews on different construction sites.
- Making sure the survey crews maintain good survey practice's and quality procedures on the different sites.
- Prepare survey control and BM’s for start up of new construction sites.
- Maintain good communication with General Contractors on site and ensure crews following the latest RFI’s responses & Site Instruction changes on site.
- Where needed with crews help prepare RFI’s, layout sheets, pre & post pour check sheets and as-built templates.
- Working with site superintendents/foremen to ensure all necessary information to build the job is requested and help with submittals of pour breaks, formwork shop drawings, etc.
- Willing to train new surveyors where it may advantageous and help/support survey crews where necessary.
Wage is negotiable based on experience of applicant.
