At On Side, our Water Damage Technicians are the calm in the storm—literally. From burst pipes to sewer surprises, you’ll be the first responder who turns chaos into clean, dry order.
You’ll work hands-on to remove water, set up drying equipment, and help restore homes and businesses to their pre-disaster state. Empathy and urgency are key, you’re not just fixing spaces, you’re helping people through one of their most stressful moments.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $20-$25/hour
- Overtime opportunities (where applicable)

What You’ll Do
- Perform demolition of affected structures and materials
- Set up and monitor drying equipment
- Clean and restore areas impacted by water-related disasters
- Complete restoration tasks
- Support emergency mitigation efforts as needed
- Contents cleaning and packing
What You Bring
- Min 1 year Previous industry experience as a Water Damage Technician
- Mechanical aptitude— you can look at something and just know how it works
- Demolition experience- careful, mindful, good housekeeping
- Detail oriented and curious
- Organized with a good sense of time— you’re rarely late and know where all your tools are
- Physically fit— water damage can, at times, include heavy lifting and getting into (and out of) tight places
- Tech savviness (capability to learn applications and computer programs as required)
- Interest in cross training in Remediation, Contents Cleaning, Emergency, and helping all teams
- Willing to wear the PPE that is provided for the job, including being clean shaven (if applicable) for half and full-face masks
- Friendly and enjoys working in a team!
- A safety-first mindset
- Valid driver’s licence & clean drivers abstract
- Able to successfully satisfy On Side’s criminal record check requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
- Availability to work locally and out of town as required

- Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement. Meaning you’ll work regular weekday hours and participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule.

Application question(s):
- Are you physically fit? This position can be physically demanding and requires a person to bend, crouch, reach, kneel, and carry 50+lbs.
- Are you able to work a Rotating On-Call Schedule (Responding to emergency calls after business hours)? This is additional to scheduled daytime hours as per the schedule. Premium and overtime are paid.
- Restoration work can be dirty. Flooded basements and sewer backups are the norm. Are you able and willing to work in these conditions
- Restoration work requires documentation and tracking throughout your workday. Are you comfortable operating a phone to navigate through applications and record information as instructed?
- What do you bring from your past work experience (restoration and/or construction) that will help you succeed in this role?
- Are you able to work later than scheduled when required? A job often requires an additional hour or two of overtime to be fully complete. Being available to work a bit extra to get the job done is helpful (vs returning the next day for a quick finish). Overtime is paid.
